This week, we chose to chat with Mia Neuse, L.Ac., a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who operates in the Montavillla neighborhood near the foundation of Mt. Tabor. Neuse is a graduate of a long time member of the East Portland Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.
As you create an item or a service, think of what other products or services could be offered to complement and augment it. What else do your clients or customers want? What other services can you give them to create additional streams of income for your business? For instance, a chiropractic office may offer therapeutic massages, yoga courses or nutritional supplements. Products and these services are not Chiropractic services but they"re something and related to health that chiropractic patients might be interested in.
Abbreviations - If you"re audited, don"t count on a chiropractor reviewing your records who"ll know what "PRL" or "ASRA" or even "Sublux" means. For that matter, even a non-chiropractor may have issue with non-specific abbreviations like "PT." Did you send the patient for part time or Physical Therapy work? The auditor isn"t going to try and interpret your abbreviations, especially if a key isn"t absent that describes them. An excellent SOAP note with one abbreviation that is unidentifiable can make you fail your audit. Therefore, make sure you"re spelling it out definitely (another advantage to EMR, push the button and the word comes out!) or that you supply a key that clearly translates all your abbreviations.
First, a potential Twitter user in your local area that may come across your own profile will see that you"re giving "scripted" replies to everyone. Do you believe they"ll need to be your friend if you"re not showing a personal side? What would you think if someone was marketing chiropractic this way? The objective of social media is to, well, be social. I do not believe having a profile like that sets the stage for quality social interaction.
In case you"re worried about back pain, consider changing the type of shoes you decide to wear. Improper footwear, such as shoes that are too big or too little, can cause you to slump around to keep your equilibrium. This bad bearing leads to back pain and other back problems. Don"t wear shoes that do not fit correctly, particularly if you"ve trouble walking while wearing the shoes. You should buy some insoles and just wear them for brief periods of time if you need to wear them.
I like to describe it this way: the back resembles a circuit breaker box in the body. To put it simply, the switch is fixed by chiropractors. The important thing would be to eliminate the subluxations in the back since, as I said previously, every nerve in the entire body changes. (A subluxation is bio mechanical malfunctioning or a slight dislocation of the vertebrae.) This subsequently allows the nerves along with the back to function properly.
Know your strengths. Don"t boast, but merely smoothly report your strengths that may help you to successfully complete your training class and proceed with your profession.
What I"ve found is that fear is imprisoning while religion is emancipating. I am freed by one up, the other shuts me down. One has the potential of being pleasure while the other is definitely a drag. It"s your choice.
